About Sumissura's Custom Tweed Jackets
Founded in 2008, Sumissura is the e-commerce leader in custom tweed jackets and blazers, as we offer our customers complete freedom to design their own clothes by choosing from a wide range of styles and fabrics.
Tweed Jackets Style Tips
Sumissura stylist team chooses every year a selection of ten to twenty new tweed fabrics. They select a different variety every season. Shades of green, brown, chocolate, coffee,... usually on checked or plain patterns.
The tweed jacket our customers prefer the most is the one with leather elbow patches, real sleeve buttonholes (to put on the gloves easily), notched lapels, 2 or 3 front buttons, double back vent, and patched pockets. But you can go as creative as you want, why not peaked lapels? Or why not classic non-patched pockets? And what about contrasting the button threads?
Combine your tweed jacket with a pair of jeans to rock the casual outfit of the season. Combine it with a pair of wool pants to get a more business look. A tweed jacket is one of the most versatile pieces that you can own.
Most common choices for tweed jackets
According to our fashion advisor, tweed is one of the most comfortable fabrics to wear, thanks to its spongy feel. It comes in such a wide range of nepped, flecked and multi-colored variants, that it's definnitely one of the most diverse and beautiful fabrics you can find. According to our customers' choices we would like to highlight several fabric ideas:
Green & Brown Tweed
The classics. It's your first tweed jacket and you want to go all-in with the tweed experience? Then choose a brown or green shade, preferably in a checked pattern. Classics never go out of style.
Pink Tweed Jackets
Our favorite this season. A feminine, classy, elegant shade. Pink is the color of our brand and we could not offer you the tweed alternative for it. Choose it with elbow patches. Pair it with pants of almost any color. We just love it. Pink Tweed Jackets
Grey Tweed Jackets
Elegant and subtle. They pair with almost anything. If you want to be effortlessly elegant in your tweed jacket, just go for a gray shade. Grey Tweed Jackets
Herringbone Tweed Jackets
We love this in blue. Herringbone tweed is not that common in our catalog, but we try to have at least one option every season. Herringbone Tweed Jackets
Men Tweed Jackets
Sumissura is not the only company out there creating made to measure tweed jackets. Our brother brand, Hockerty is creating beautiful jackets and blazers in tweed for men, too. Check them out here: Men Tweed Jackets
Harris Tweed and Donegal Tweed
