The temperatures are rising, and it’s getting more difficult to decide what to wear to the office. We have put together the big “no-no’s” of summer work wear, to help you avoid some common Summer work wear mistakes.
Do we even have to explain why? Booty shorts, and cutoffs for that matter, are for the weekend. That’s it. If you’re going to wear shorts to the office, make sure they are polished and no shorter than mid-thigh. Preferably add a matching blazer to complete the look. Check out our made to measure Bermuda Suits, or remove the blazer and just get the Bermudas here.
This one depends on the company culture of wear your work, but a general rule is to avoid anything strapless (especially spaghetti straps). It’s easily done by layering a blazer or vest on top of your outfit.
Buy a nice pair of sandals and leave the flip flops by the beach or poolside.
A top that’s longer than your shorts:
Why this is a bad idea? It will look as if though you’re not wearing pants - not a nice office look.
Even though it’s tempting to wear sheer fabrics when it’s warm hot, try to avoid it. Your bra should not be visible through your shirt. Add an extra layer underneath if you want to wear it to work, or save the top for a night out.
Crop tops are great to wear when the temperature are rising. However, avoid showing your belly at work. However, if your workplace allows crop tops, avoid showing your belly button and opt for a top that only shows a small sliver of your midriff.
Some mini-skirts and dresses:
If you have to keep pulling down your dress or skirt, it’s too short to wear to work.
