Not only is it true that your wedding day is your day and you can do (read: wear) what you want, but a tuxedo is an excellent option if you, for whatever reason, don't want to wear the traditional white dress, or any dress for that matter. There are no "rules" stating you can't, or shouldn't, be able to, wear a tuxedo to your wedding. A tuxedo is an excellent alternative to the otherwise classic (white) dress.
As an inspiration to this, look at Bianca Jagger who in 1971 wore a skirt with a tuxedo blazer (very similar to the white tuxedo skirt suit below) on her wedding day. You too can pair your tuxedo blazer with a skirt rather than pants, if you wish.
